How Injection Technology Works

Posted by

Currently all types of motorcycles already use injection technology. Injection, is a method of mixing fuel with air in motor vehicles to produce perfect combustion.
Injection requires a device called an injector, which is in charge of supplying a mixture of fuel with air. Injection system is the successor technology for carburetor systems in motorized vehicles.

How the Injection Motor Works
If the carburetor system, the vehicle requires the right adjustment in order to get the optimal mixture of fuel and air or AFR (Air-fuel ratio), the injection system has been programmed by computer to get the optimal AFR ratio.

AFR
In order to get the optimal AFR, the injector relies on a computer program to control the AFR.
The electronic device whose duty is to control the work of the injector is called the ECM or Electronic Control Module.
The Electronic Control Module has factory-standard settings and controls. This ECM can automatically control the amount of fuel and air that fits in certain weather conditions.
In the injection motor there is an air sensor, this sensor which will help ECM in calculating the right AFR according to the needs of the engine and the air around the engine. More or less like this picture of the injection system on the motor.
The concept is the same as the carburetor system, because injection is a refinement of the carburetor system.
