Said additive is not foreign in the ears. As we know, the additive is one of the major components in the oil or engine oil. Engine oil is made from base oil, no mineral or synthetic which then must be mixed with additives to be used untu lubricate engine components. In total there are 9 additive in the engine oil, the composition according to the needs of living.
Each brand is different oil composition. This difference will be adjusted with the advantages provided by the manufacturer of oil to consumers. So what are the additives that exist on this machine lubricant? Here are the details one by one.

     Anti-Oxidant, function to prevent the oxidation processes on a molecular lubricant.
     Detergent, to keep the metal surface free of dirt.
     Dispersant, control and carry dirt so uniformly dispersed in the lubricant.
     Anti-rust or corrosion, to prevent rust on metal parts associated with the lubricant.
     Anti-wear, prevent friction and wear of the engine surface.
     Friction modifier, to increase the slipperiness of the film lubricants.
     Despressant pour point, is able to make the lubricant remains easy to flow at low temperatures.
     Anti-foam, prevents the formation of foam no lubricant.
     Viscosity improver, to keep the oil viscosity at low and high temperatures.
